Hi everyone, The main conference schedule for the upcoming OpenStack Summit in Austin <https://www.openstack.org/summit/austin-2016/> is now available! Everyone who submitted a speaking proposal for the Summit will soon receive an email notification to let them know whether or not their talk is accepted. The email sent to selected speakers was sent from speakersupport(a)openstack.org <mailto:speakersupport@openstack.org> and contains important next steps and their speaker registration code. Each speaker is responsible for registering themselves to attend the Summit. Please make sure your colleagues read the email and complete this step. MOBILE APP In mid April the schedule mobile app will also be available for download. We will notify the community at that time. Contact summit(a)openstack.org with any questions. See you in Austin! [openstack-community] OpenStack instances can't access LAN or internet when using LXD

Hi, I have installed OpenStack Mitaka (all in one) in ubuntu 16.04. I'm using LXD as a hypervisor using nova-lxd. Everything is working fine, I can login to dashboard, launch instances successfully. I assigned floating IPs to them too and 'nova list' shows they are assigned to the instances. 'lxc list' shows only private ip assigned. The problem is I can't access internet or even the LAN while inside that instance. Any help? Thanks

Hi, The OpenStackFr user group is organizing a full day of OpenStack workshops next month. This will happen on June 15 at the ENS school in the great city of Lyon. Three parallel tracks will allow attendees to get a hands-on experience appropriate to their interests and skills: from OpenStack 101 to advanced deployment and Upstream Training. Nova has a pluggable layer for adding hypervisors, and its certainly possible to do that thing. That said, Nova is pretty hesitant these days to add new hypervisor drivers, as its a lot of maintenance work for the team, especially if the original authors of a driver wander off. A first port of call is probably to work out if you could get support added to libvirt, and then what exposing that in the libvirt driver for Nova would look like. Hi everyone, For the past few years, the Foundation has contributed funding & graphics for "birthday parties" organized by official user groups around the world. It's something we have celebrated each year in July, and in 2015 we hit a pretty big milestone with the 5th birthday. We typically create and distribute graphics and a presentation, help promote the events and give qualifying groups $500 USD to supplement costs for food / space / etc. Since we passed the 5-year milestone, we wanted to start a discussion with user group leaders and the community to see how much value you find in the birthday parties. Are they an important tradition for your local community members, or should we redirect funding and efforts to other user group activities, such as sponsoring speaker travel? We would love your feedback - are the OpenStack birthdays something that you would like the Foundation to continue supporting?
