[openstack-community] Pre & Post Summit events in Asia

Hi all, I hope you're excited for our upcoming summit in Hong Kong :) One of the ideas that has been floating around is that since we'll have an incredible mass of OpenStack expertise in the area for the summit, why don't we try and arrange some events in Asia before and afterward? This will mean that those multitudes in the region who can't make it to the summit can get exposure to the experts, and that leads to increased contributions and encourages global collaborations. Of course, organising this is going to take some work, and it needs to happen quite soon - as people are booking flight tickets early to get the best deal. What do you think about this idea? Will your group help organise an event? How do you think is the best way to make it work? Regards, Tom

I have submitted a presentation abstract for the upcoming summit in Hong Kong, titled "The role of the community managers in the OpenStack community". http://www.openstack.org/summit/openstack-summit-hong-kong-2013/become-a-sp… One of the interesting things about the OpenStack project is in addition the excellent work being done by Stephano working for the Foundation, many of the participating organizations have community managers, directors of engagement, and other such people in such roles also engaged with the project and with the community. I don't want to be the only guy on stage. In fact, if we can make it a panel discussion of all the community managers, that would be best, and would be a better and more useful presentation. Who else is interested in signing up as a co-presenter, and making this a panel? ..m

That is, unanswered questions which were impossible to answer - especially where the poster was asked to provide more information and they did not. [openstack-community] Speakers for the Openstack user group meetup in Stockholm

Hello, I'd like to ask for some advise about contacting speakers for the next openstack user group nordics (OSUGN) meetup in Stockholm (http://www.meetup.com/OpenStack-User-Group-Nordics/events/112862882/) scheduled for September, 11 at 18.00. I've decided to post on this list before posting on the general one. The first meetup in April this year (http://www.meetup.com/OpenStack-User-Group-Nordics/events/95258382) was quite successful with 50 attendees and really nice speakers. Up until now though, it was somewhat difficult to find speakers for the next meetup (I blame it on summer vacations :-) ) Hit me if you any have tips about potential speakers that would be willing to give a talk at the meetup, either in person or remotely. There's quite a lot of interest for Quantum/Neutron around here, so it would also be great to have a speaker working with that. Thanks and have a great week, /Nicolae.
