Greeting, The next meeting of the Board of Directors is on November 7th, 2023 at 21:00 UTC. As such, I have posted an initial agenda for the meeting to the wiki[0]. While I expect the meeting to take the entire scheduled meeting window at present, if you have any agenda items to be raised for this month's meeting, please let me know as soon as possible. Emergent items may need to be deferred, but raising awareness now will be helpful as we wrap up the rest of the year. Update to D&I WG Charter

In preparation for moving off the Wiki to a more permanent page on the website, the WG spent our meeting today cleaning up the current content. While doing this we noticed that the charter was out of date, mentioning the OpenStack Foundation, just the OpenStack community, etc. We would like to propose the following updated charter to the Board for review and possible vote. Thanks, Amy In an effort to assert and facilitate the incorporation of diversity policies into its overall strategy, the Board of Directors of the OpenInfra Foundation (“Board”) is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming place for all people to collaborate and drive innovation and design cutting-edge data center capabilities that provide solutions for our most pressing challenges. This working group sponsors and creates programs that encourage diversity and inclusion by identifying and removing the barriers that keep us from having a diverse, thriving community. The programs recommended by this working group will apply to the board of directors, foundation members, project leaders, contributors, and their associated communities. Each program has specific success metrics and the working group provides regular updates on all programs to the Board as well as the Communities. The diversity working group, like other Board committees, is supervised by the Board who has authority to approve its proposals. The Board may choose to exercise such authority by setting guidelines for the scope and implementation of such programs. The working group reviews existing Foundation programs and policies on a regular basis to evaluate their performance and effectiveness. The working group collaborates with Project Leadership and the Board to ensure that all programs are meeting their diversity and inclusion goals. Diversity is defined as all the ways people differ from one another including race, color, religion, gender identity and expression, national origin, language, ancestry, age, disability, medical condition, genetic information, military and veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation and other aspects. This includes elements such as personal background, experiences, education, thinking processes, approaches to problem solving and experiences. The differences range from subtle nuances to very clear points of difference – this is the nature of diversity. OpenInfra staff at All Things Open

Greetings Directors, I’m reaching out to you about All Things Open (https://2023.allthingsopen.org) to let you know that Mark Collier, Kendall Nelson, Jeremy Stanley and myself will attend the event this year. We will be available at the conference from Sunday (October 15) morning till Tuesday (October 17) end of day. We are setting up meetings and will be exploring the event for news and updates that are relevant for the OpenInfra communities and ecosystem. October meeting of the OpenInfra Board of Directors has been cancelled

Greetings, Per my email to the foundation-board list[0] on September 19th, I have cancelled the October meeting of the Board of Directors after discussion with the Foundation staff and the Vice-Chair. We will meet in November during the scheduled time. For those of you attending that meeting, please be prepared for us to utilize the entire scheduled window as we will have a number of topics to address during that meeting in large part due to the time of year in preparation for 2024. Any topics for the October 3rd meeting of the board?

Greetings Directors, This morning Allison Randall and I met with the foundation executive staff to identify core topics from the staff to turn into an agenda for our upcoming meeting. Unfortunately, we determined that we would not have any items ready for the board for this upcoming meeting. The plus is that we can cancel the October 3rd meeting if we have no other business to attend to. The down side is our November meeting is likely going to have a number of topics to cover. As such, if anyone has any topics which need to be discussed and addressed during the scheduled meeting on October 3rd, please let me know before 9 AM Friday morning US-Pacific (4 PM UTC). If I receive no topics by that time, I will cancel the October meeting of the board, and we will meet next during our scheduled November meeting. Thanks, -Julia
