To me, this is the killer feature - being discoverable to an audience 
that doesn't know about some other site, far outweighs any UX 
shortcomings. I worry that moving to our own meetups site will make 
these gatherings invisible to a huge potential audience.

It's a shame Meetup.com isn't Open Source.
