[openstack-community] "official" user group process

Hi Carol,

Thanks for reading.

We have some canned text about this:

"""
The OpenStack User Groups are informal associations of people around the
world that meet to discuss about OpenStack, share knowledge and
experiences. These are important entities for the OpenStack project as
they help by spreading awareness, recruit developers and users and more.
"""

So far there are more than 75 user groups around the world. Quite a few
of them meet on a regular basis, and so in many cities around the world
you can find an event to attend and go and chat with people about
OpenStack, or view a presentation or two.

"""
The user groups don't have a direct relation with the OpenStack
Foundation even though the members of the user groups can be members of
the OpenStack Foundation and/or be a member of the OpenStack User
Committee.
"""

We don't control user groups - they form organically when there are
interested people in a particular location. They self-organise and vary
in their approach based in their own needs. That's something we support.

It's also important not to confuse "user groups" with "working groups of
the user committee" - two different things :)

Regards,

Tom

Like would we want the user group to host a session during the design summit to provide input? Or develop blue prints to address requirements for the segment? OR?
