Maybe it's just me but just looking at my own submission it looks like the voting display is cutting off abstracts somehow? When I go through the CFP site there is quite a fairly lengthy abstract saved, but none appears on the voting site? https://www.openstack.org/summit/sydney-2017/vote-for-speakers#/19206 Spot checking a lot of other submissions I see a lot showing no abstract as well, which seems unlikely? Thanks, Steve ----- Original Message -----

Even though there is no abstract and the title of your talk is uncomfortably similar in format to mine I still voted for you in lieu of a hug. I suppose if we make our decisions based purely on the “expect to learn” section that IS visible, we’ll should be fine. It’s the end, not the means, right? Also, the deadlines listed at the top of the page are in February, FWIW. I do see a list of proposals for the Forum track. I thought the Forum sessions would be discussed differently from the other tracks like we did for Boston, so should we still review them ? Should also the Foundation discuss with the related proposers and explain how the Forum works if I'm right? -Sylvain On Wed, Jul 26, 2017 at 1:51 AM, Jimmy McArthur <jimmy@openstack.org> wrote:

Maybe it's just me but just looking at my own submission it looks like the voting display is cutting off abstracts somehow? When I go through the CFP site there is quite a fairly lengthy abstract saved, but none appears on the voting site?

Spot checking a lot of other submissions I see a lot showing no abstract as well, which seems unlikely?
Thanks,

Yes, that info should be correct. We have a setting to hide/show tracks for CFP and unfortunately we just left Forum set to "show" this go round and it went unnoticed. Everyone should continue to submit to the Forum in the same they always have in the past. Apologies for the confusion. Cheers, Jimmy

Sylvain Bauza <mailto:sbauza@redhat.com> July 27, 2017 at 3:18 AM Thanks Jimmy and Tom for the quick response to this problem. I was just surprised to see some seasoned OpenStack people to just provide their own proposals, while it was pretty explicit that the Forum wouldn't have the same CFP, so I wondered if I missed some discussion :-)
Jimmy McArthur <mailto:jimmy@openstack.org> July 27, 2017 at 3:05 AM This was an error. We will be contacting individual submitters and explaining the forum process. Meantime, we have removed these sessions from community voting.

Just checking: since there were several disruptions to the voting system this week (missing abstracts, submissions from earlier Summits, the Forum problem), will the voting period be extended? I would much support that. Cheers, Florian
We will extend voting by 48 hours so we can give everyone a bit of extra time. Thanks, Jimmy
