[openstack-community] Collaborating without Boundaries Working Group

Hi Everyone, At the OpenInfra Summit in June, we held a forum session to discuss forming a new working group: Many communities around the world are underserved when it comes to infrastructure and connectivity. Individuals and organizations encounter barriers, often limited with a single non-local, cloud solution. In some cases, there is no option at all. Additionally, a lack of technology training programs can result in aspiring entrepreneurs and workers leaving the region for training, taking their skills and ideas with them. Many organizations and individuals are working separately to solve these problems. The OpenInfra community works best when we collaborate without boundaries by embracing the Four Opens. This session will establish an opportunity to level the playing field through open collaboration, creating a unified place to help these groups work together and share knowledge around solving these problems through open infrastructure, open connectivity, micro transactions, and technology training programs. Dear Community, Kindly I have a question about installing openstack using OSA (openstack ansible). In the documentation it mentions that we no longer require br-vxlan and it is more efficient to set an IP directly on the bond or a VLAN on the bond. In such a scenario how should we configure the user_config.yml, the only relative section that we found was the below. What should be changed in the container_bridge parameter? - network:# group_binds:# - neutron_linuxbridge_agent# container_bridge: "br-vxlan"# container_type: "veth"# container_interface: "eth10"# container_mtu: "9000"# ip_from_q: "tunnel"# type: "vxlan"# range: "1:1000"# net_name: "vxlan" Thanks -- Best Regards Monis

[openstack-community] Community Organizers Meeting at the OpenInfra Summit

Hi everyone! I want to provide a bit of an update on something you can expect at the upcoming OpenInfra Summit[1]. At the end of Day 2 (Wednesday, June 14) at the OpenInfra Summit, we will be hosting a Marketplace Mixer. Leading up to the Marketplace Mixer, Latin American Community Organizer, Alvaro Soto, will be providing a talk on “Cultural Challenges for OpenSource in LATAM” [2] on the OpenInfra Stage. This is a stage right in the center of the OpenInfra Marketplace, where the Mixer will be held. Following that, I will be providing an update on the efforts you all have been making to progress the open source community in your region. We will have two designated tables next to the stage for community organizers such as yourself to hang out. At the end of Alvaro’s talk, I will introduce each of the community organizers we have present. Then during the Marketplace Mixer, you will have the opportunity to mingle with folks who are interested in participating in local events. In addition, we will have representatives from a few other open source software communities onsite. During this time, this will also be an opportunity for you to ask me or any of these representatives any questions on how we can support your efforts to grow the local OpenInfra communities. As cross-community events become a more popular trend, I hope this will be an opportunity for you to advocate your work to the wider community as well as gain alignment with various open source Foundations for support in your future events. If you will be at the OpenInfra Summit and would like to participate in this community event please notify me so that I may make sure I have your name down to introduce you to the audience.
