Hi everyone! We have some new updates regarding both the OpenInfra Summit Asia and OpenInfra Days Europe! If you have any questions feel free to email me or reach out to events(a)openinfra.dev <mailto:events@openinfra.dev> The current 2024 events updates/status is as follows: ——— NEW EVENT UPDATES——— OpenInfra Summit Asia: The CfP and registration for the OpenInfra Summit Asia is currently being built and will be available very soon. Registration will be 70,000 KRW ($60 USD) + fees. OpenInfra Days Europe and North America: The registration for the OpenInfra Meetup Switzerland (6 June), hosted by CERN, is now open[1]! The day before the meetup (5 June) CERN will host a Bare Metal SIG/Ironic Meetup. Registration for this meetup is also now open[2]. Expected Attendee Numbers I received some questions on how big each of these events would be, so I have included expected attendee numbers below. [OpenInfra Event Update] Creation of regular updates with the community

Hi everyone! With a newly formatted OpenInfra Summit, I wanted to make sure the OpenInfra Foundation is clearly communicating what is going on behind the scenes. With the OpenInfra Summit moving to a community-powered format, timelines and announcement dates are a bit harder to predict. With that said, we want to make sure we are keeping open lines of communication with the community to ensure the best experience for everyone. This year, we will have quite a few events going on and with so many moving pieces, I want to make sure everyone understands the processes as well as where to direct any questions. Moving forward, Allison Price or I will be updating the Foundation mailing list[1] and Community mailing list[2] anytime we have an update to the events’ webpages. These emails will be tagged with [OpenInfra Event Update]. Our community managers will also re-share the archived email to the project mailing lists. We will also continue providing updates to our newsletter, however those updates will be at a lesser cadence. The emails will be formatted so that any new updates are listed at the top and a general status update will be listed below. The current 2024 events updates/status is as follows: ——— NEW EVENT UPDATES——— OpenInfra Summit Asia: The marketing page for the Regional OpenInfra Summit Asia has launched[3]. This page will provide a high-level overview of the OpenInfra Summit. Next month we will launch the event page where you will find information on the CFP, registration, and more. Sponsorship pricing for the Regional OpenInfra Summit Asia has been posted[4]. Some of the benefits are in flux, but the majority is final. The Regional OpenInfra Summit Asia is being planned in collaboration with the Open Compute Project(OCP) community[5]! OpenInfra Days Europe and North America: There is a new OpenInfra Days page[6]. This page is where you will find information on all future OpenInfra Days. Currently, this page just provides a high-level overview and later this quarter we will launch the event page where registration and the CFP will be found. Registration for OpenInfra Days Turkiye (20 May 2024 in Istanbul) is now open! [7] Sponsorship information[8] for OpenInfra Days Turkiye and OpenInfra Days Germany is posted. Sponsorship information for the rest of the OpenInfra Days is still being processed, I will provide an update as those are posted. The venue for OpenInfra Days Germany has been confirmed as Villa Elisabeth, Berlin, Germany[9]. OpenInfra Days USA has expanded to OpenInfra Days North America to include the communities in LATAM and Canada. The venue and date are still being confirmed. Everyone who submitted a speaking proposal for the Summit will soon receive an email notification to let them know whether or not their talk is accepted. The email sent to selected speakers was sent from speakersupport(a)openstack.org <mailto:speakersupport@openstack.org> and contains important next steps and their speaker registration code. Each speaker is responsible for registering themselves to attend the Summit. Please make sure your colleagues read the email and complete this step. Hi everyone! We are excited to announce some upcoming OpenInfra events in 2024! The 2024 OpenInfra Summit will be designed by the community, for the community. This new regional event is designed to create opportunities that engage local experts and create a more accessible experience for attendees through more affordable sponsorship and registration prices. The regional OpenInfra Summit Asia will be piloted by the Korean OpenInfra community in collaboration with numerous other community leaders throughout Asia. You are invited to attend on September 3 & 4 for the Regional OpenInfra Summit Asia at the Suwon Convention Center. Sponsorship information is available now and registration will be open soon. A special edition: OpenInfra Days Europe will be held in May and June 2024 including OpenInfra Days in Germany, France, Sweden, and Turkiye as well as meetups in the UK, CERN, and other locations throughout Europe. Sponsorship information for Turkiye and Sweden is available now [1], and more information will be available soon. The first virtual PTG in 2024 will be held from April 8-12. Team signup is open right now [2] and registration will open in January. Aside from these events, you can still expect other regional events such as OpenInfra Days and User Group Meetups in Latin America, North America, Africa, etc. Who knows, maybe Antarctica has an OpenInfra deployment or two?!
