[openstack-community] Give cinder-backup more CPU resources

Hi When making “cinder backup-create” We found the process “cinder-backup” use 100% util of 1 CPU core on an OpenStack Controller node. It not just causes a bad backup performance, also make the openstack-cinder-backup unstable. Especially when we make several backup at the same time. The Controller Node has 40 CPU cores. Can we assign more CPU resources to cinder-backup ? Hi, I am trying to install DevStack for the first time in a baremetal with Fedora 28 installed. While executing the stack.sh I am getting the following error: No match for argument: Django Error: Unable to find a match Can anybody in the community help me out with this problem. [openstack-community] [cloudkitty] Standalone with custom metrics in gnocchi

Hi, we are building a new billing system for internal use right now. All data is written by some VMWare collector to a standalone gnocchi system and we would like to use a standalone cloudkitty installation to do rating and charging. Is there any documentation how to use cloudkitty standalone and connected to a standalone gnocchi system? I struggled with the metrics.yml as well. Wasn't able to find any documentation about it's structure. All the best, Florian

[openstack-community] Berlin Summit CFP Deadline July 17

Hi everyone, The Call for Presentations <https://www.openstack.org/summit/berlin-2018/call-for-presentations/> is open for the Berlin Summit <https://www.openstack.org/summit/berlin-2018/>, November 13-15. The deadline to submit your presentation has been extended to July 17. At the Vancouver Summit, we focused on open infrastructure integration as the Summit has evolved over the years to cover more than just OpenStack. We had over 30 different projects from the open infrastructure community join, including Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, OpenShift and many more. The Tracks were organized around specific use cases and will remain the same for Berlin with the addition of Hands on Workshops as its own dedicated Track. We encourage you to submit presentations covering the open infrastructure tools you’re using, as well as the integration work needed to address these use cases. We also encourage you to invite peers from other open source communities to speak and collaborate. The Tracks are: • CI/CD • Container Infrastructure • Edge Computing • Hands on Workshops • HPC / GPU / AI • Open Source Community • Private & Hybrid Cloud • Public Cloud • Telecom & NFV Community voting, the first step in building the Summit schedule, will open in mid July. Once community voting concludes, a Programming Committee for each Track will build the schedule. Programming Committees are made up of individuals from many different open source communities working in open infrastructure, in addition to people who have participated in the past. If you’re interested in nominating yourself or someone else to be a member of the Summit Programming Committee for a specific Track, please fill out the nomination form <https://openstackfoundation.formstack.com/forms/openstackberlin2018_program…>. Nominations will close on June 28. Again, the deadline to submit proposals <https://www.openstack.org/summit/berlin-2018/call-for-presentations/> is July 17. We covered a lot of ground and had some great discussions around User Group Leader/UC/Ambassador/Foundation collaboration and general improvement of the program. Below are the summarized notes from the session, along with some commentary on how we plan to move these ideas forward. Hi everyone, Good news from the Board Meeting today. The Board of Directors approved Tencent as the newest Platinum Member of the OpenStack Foundation. Tencent is the No 3 Internet company worldwide and runs OpenStack at scale to support many of their popular applications, including WeChat, as well as help build private clouds for government and industry customers. Tencent won the Superuser award at the Sydney Summit and its developers have contributed to multiple OpenStack projects, including Freezer, Kolla, LOCI, Nova, OpenStack-Ansible and Oslo. Nine Tencent team members have taken the Certified OpenStack Administrator exam. Dear OpenStack Community Members, OpenStack Korea User Group is excited to announce that there will be OpenInfra Days Korea 2018 in Seoul, Korea, for two days (June 29th - 30th). Our theme this year is "Open Infrastructure: OpenStack, Containers, and Cloud Native Computing". Open infrastructure is evolving with more open source communities and technologies including cloud computing and containers. Following this year's theme, Korea community would like to use "OpenInfra Days Korea 2018" name to bring open source communities in Korea together to collaborate and ultimately build a wide open source ecosystem together. This is the fifth event from the first OpenStack Days Korea event in 2014. Each of four previous events had a huge success and attracted lots of interest among IT expert, engineers, developers and Executives. The OpenInfra (and previous OpenStack) Days Korea is certainly one of the biggest Open Source Technology event in Korea. The event will be held at Hall E, Coex for both two days. There will be keynote session & technical presentations on the first day. On the second day, hands-on-lab sessions and deep dive sessions including Upstream Institute Korea are planned for participants to experience technologies in details.
