Hi Everyone- The Call for Presentations is NOW OPEN <https://www.openstack.org/summit/barcelona-2016/call-for-speakers/>for the upcoming OpenStack Summit in Barcelona, October 25-28! Hurry - the submission deadline is July 13th at 11:59pm PST (July 14th at 6:59 UTC). Details on the selection process and track chair information can be found here <https://www.openstack.org/summit/barcelona-2016/call-for-speakers/selection…>. June 17th is the deadline for track chair nominations. New: Proposed sessions must indicate a format: Panel or Presentation. Each format has a maximum number of speakers associated. Panels are allowed a total of four speakers plus one moderator, whereas Presentations are limited to two speakers. As a reminder, speakers are limited to a maximum of three presentation submissions total. REGISTRATION Registration is now open <https://openstacksummit2016barcelona.eventbrite.com/>. Purchase your discounted early bird passes now. Prices will increase in early September. SPONSORSHIP SALES Sponsorship sales will open Wednesday, June 15, at 8:00am PST (15:00 UTC). [openstack-community] openstack Unauthorized HTTP 401 'Could not find user' when sahara call heat

Hi, Friends, I used Openstack-Juno heat, keystone and Mitaka sahara. Sahara is installed in docker container using host network. When sahara wants to call heat to create a hadoop cluster, the below error is happened. Could you help to check this issue? I guess, the heat couldn't create user in keystone. The attachment is the conf file and log file. Please reference them. [openstack-community] Group doing something special? Talk to your ambassador ...

Hi all, It was great to see a passionate discussion around the birthday parties over the past few weeks. It seems that many people cherish the celebration, but don't necessarily need the funds for that specifically. This is a quick follow-up to talk about the funding program available via your Ambassadors ( https://groups.openstack.org/ambassador-program ). At the Foundation, we care about making your user group the best it can be. Part of making a user group sustainable, though it is sometimes a struggle, is making sure you have a roster of local sponsors to deal with the regular meetups. However, sometimes you've got a great idea and want to do something "special", potentially beyond what your regular supporters can fund. Maybe you're running upstream training and need to buy Lego? Or perhaps you need help to get a superstar speaker to your meetup? What about entering an OpenStack booth in a local conference? If you're doing interesting things that need special funding, please contact your ambassador and start a discussion ( https://groups.openstack.org/ambassador-program ) - we'd love to see what you come up with and how we can support it. [openstack-community] OpenStack instances can't access LAN or internet when using LXD

Hi, I have installed OpenStack Mitaka (all in one) in ubuntu 16.04. I'm using LXD as a hypervisor using nova-lxd. Everything is working fine, I can login to dashboard, launch instances successfully. I assigned floating IPs to them too and 'nova list' shows they are assigned to the instances. 'lxc list' shows only private ip assigned. The problem is I can't access internet or even the LAN while inside that instance. Any help? Thanks

Hi, The OpenStackFr user group is organizing a full day of OpenStack workshops next month. This will happen on June 15 at the ENS school in the great city of Lyon. Three parallel tracks will allow attendees to get a hands-on experience appropriate to their interests and skills: from OpenStack 101 to advanced deployment and Upstream Training. Nova has a pluggable layer for adding hypervisors, and its certainly possible to do that thing. That said, Nova is pretty hesitant these days to add new hypervisor drivers, as its a lot of maintenance work for the team, especially if the original authors of a driver wander off. A first port of call is probably to work out if you could get support added to libvirt, and then what exposing that in the libvirt driver for Nova would look like. Hi everyone, For the past few years, the Foundation has contributed funding & graphics for "birthday parties" organized by official user groups around the world. It's something we have celebrated each year in July, and in 2015 we hit a pretty big milestone with the 5th birthday. We typically create and distribute graphics and a presentation, help promote the events and give qualifying groups $500 USD to supplement costs for food / space / etc. Since we passed the 5-year milestone, we wanted to start a discussion with user group leaders and the community to see how much value you find in the birthday parties. Are they an important tradition for your local community members, or should we redirect funding and efforts to other user group activities, such as sponsoring speaker travel? We would love your feedback - are the OpenStack birthdays something that you would like the Foundation to continue supporting?
