Hi everyone, The OpenStack Summit has a new name! To reflect our evolving community, the first Open Infrastructure Summit <https://www.openstack.org/summit/denver-2019/> will be held in Denver, Colorado April 29 - May 1, 2019. The Call for Presentations (CFP) is now open, and the deadline to submit your presentations, panels, and workshops <https://www.openstack.org/summit/denver-2019/call-for-presentations> is Wednesday, January 23 at 11:59pm PT (January 24 at 7:59am UTC). Here are the Summit Tracks <https://www.openstack.org/summit/denver-2019/summit-categories> as well as the Programming Committee nomination form <https://openstackfoundation.formstack.com/forms/openstackdenver2019_program…> if you are interested in helping shape the content of the Summit. The content submission process for the Forum and Project Teams Gathering will be managed separately in the upcoming months. [openstack-community] Openstack Magnum

Hi all. Just installed *openstack* and *magnum* with *ansible-openstack AIO.* All works well except magnum itself. When I click on the dashboard on* Container Infra *then C*lusters or clusters templates *I get the following errors: *Error: *Unable to retrieve the clusters. *Error: *Unable to retrieve the stats. - Not sure why. [openstack-community] Asking for suggestion of video conference tool for team and webinar

Hi, I tried several free tools for team meetings, vPTG, and webinars but there are always drawbacks ( because it's free, of course). For example: - Google Hangout: only allow a maximum of 10 people to do the video calls - Zoom: limits about 45m per meeting. So for a webinar or conference call takes more than 45m we have to splits into 2 sessions or so. If anyone in the community can suggest some better video conferencing tools, that would be great. [openstack-community] Devstack - cinder volume not created

Hi everyone I have installed Ubuntu 16.04 x64 server in a VirtualBox VM on Windows 10 x64. I followed the steps at https://docs.openstack.org/devstack/latest/ to build devstack. It seems to have gone OK. The dashboard is coming up and I can log in. I created a project, a group in it and created a member. I logged in as that member on Dashboard. I created a private network, connected a router between the private and public network. I then launched an instance using the cirros image. However, the instance creation failed citing error in cinder volume creation. I went to /opt/stack/devstack and did a source openrc. Did a cinder create --display_name vol1 1, but it came back with: ERROR: The request you have made requires authentication. (HTTP 401) (Request-ID: req-0ad4efb7-b630-4e60-948a-770dee5a9233) I tried setting environment variable OS_PASSWORD equal to the password for the user, but to no avail. Hello everyone, Im looking for the best way to backup VM running in the Openstack. For the moment, my idea is to recreate VM out of .yaml HOT template. Is it possible in Openstack, to do backup like with libvirt - live disk backup with active blockcommit/snapshots? eg. virsh snapshot-create-as --domain vm_name snamshot_name --diskspec vda,file=/path/where/snapshot/ --disk-only --atomic If not, any hints what is the most common way to backup Openstack VMs (hypervisor: kvm) ? I just wanted to pass on a few things we have going on during Summit that might be of interest! *Diversity and Inclusion GroupMe* - Is it your first summit and you don't know anyone else? Maybe you just don't want to travel to and from the venue alone? In the tradition of WoO, I have created a GroupMe so people can communicate with each other. If you would like to be added to the group please let me know and I'll get you added! *Night Watch Tour *- On Wednesday night at 10PM, members of the community will be meeting up to go on a private Night Watch Tour[0]! This is a non-alcoholic activity for those wanting to get with other Stackers, but don't want to partake in the Pub Crawl! We've been doing these since Boston and they're a lot of fun. The cost is 15 euros cash and I do need you to RSVP to me as we will need to get a second guide if we grow too large!
