We're holding a very good, central, large space at the subject event for an OpenStack Pavilion, similar to what we are doing at OSCON (July 22-26, Portland) and Gartner Data Center Conference (Dec 9-12, Las Vegas - spaces still available!). The venue is ExCeL, which is close to the Canary Wharf financial/business district and easily accessible via public transportation. Two members have expressed interest to date (StackOps and Canonical). We don't have a cost to participate yet; European shows are more expensive than in the US. I expect it to be approximately in the range of $5,000 - 8,000 US. Please let me know if your firm is interested by early next week. This is not a commitment but will give me an idea on how much space to confirm. If you have your own presence at this event, priority will be given to those which do not. [openstack-community] Ask OpenStack in Chinese

Hello folks we've started working on Ask OpenStack in Chinese. This is the very first step towards enabling people to ask questions and give answers for OpenStack in many more non-English languages. The plan is to enable Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Russian and European languages right after Chinese (hopefully before the meeting in Hong Kong). If you want to see a very first demo of Ask in Chinese go to the staging server: http://ask-staging.openstack.org/zh/questions/ Ask OpenStack is powered by the open source software Askbot and the team asked us to help them translating the user interface. Hi, Today, we don't have OpenStack contributions at this event :-) The Open World Forum is the first European summit to gather political representatives, decision-makers and experts to debate the technological, economic and social impacts that the Free and Open-Source technologies bring to the market. The forum was first held in 2008, and is now organized annually in Paris, France, with more than 200 speakers coming from 24 countries, and a global audience that was 2100-people strong in 2012. The Open World Forum is held in partnership with all the major international communities in Free Software and with the key players in the digital economy. The Open World Forum is back for its sixth edition. It will be held on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of October 2013, and will take place in a completely new setting in order to accommodate a larger audience. This edition will be a milestone on the way to become the premier global event mixing state policies, social concerns, technology and economy. OWF will take place at the Beffroi in Paris, France and will again be organized by Systematic Paris Region. Hi. We're trying to configure Quantum REST Proxy Plugin to use an external Network service developed by ourselves in the context of OpenNaaS Project [1]. We have developed a REST server to listen Proxy requests. We want to modify Plugin configuration as described in OpenStack official documentation [2] and OpenStack Wiki [3]. What kind of authentication is used by REST Proxy Plugin? Is there any configuration a part of user name and password? It is possible using Basic HTTP Authentication [4]? Thank you! [openstack-community] Let's Help OpenStackers in Emerging Countries

Hello, we just recently held our first OSUG in Poland with accompanying Google+ Hangout & IRC Chat session. To our own surprise, we welcomed attendees from 9 different countries - roughly 50 people joined us at peak times. We are now planning monthly meetups (upcoming one will be on July 11th) and we again will have Google+ Hangout & IRC Chat sessions. One of our key takeaways was that many attendees from emerging regions like Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific were not able to join our Google+ Hangout due to bandwidth limitations. We spoke with OpenStackers in Ghana, Ethiopia, India and we came up with the following idea: Why don't we transcribe our Google+ Hangout sessions and distribute that content live via IRC? Obviously, we would need the help a professional transcription service provider and I was wondering if anyone would be interested to support that initiative with a donation? The OpenStack community would benefit in two ways: 1) We would significantly lower barriers for participants from emerging countries. 2) In each online session we would generate a lot of written content that could be reused in various manners - for blog posts, wikis, localization into other languages (as we all know, it's easier to translate texts than videos). Our Polish OSUG would facilitate that service. What are your thoughts? Would you be willing to support that initiative? If so, we would hammer out the details and present you a detailed plan including exact costs for that service. All the best, Rafael
