Hi! Each quarter, Qingye Jiang, an employee of Eucalyptus, publishes a report of the community and contribution metrics of OpenStack, OpenNebula, Eucalyptus, and CloudStack. He has just published his report for Y13Q3: http://www.eucalyptus.com/blog/2013/10/03/cy13-q3-community-analysis-%E2%80… Since his report last quarter, he has been collecting more metrics from git commit history, and also I think he is gathering in more data sets of discussion forums. Short summary of OpenStack’s position: OpenStack is still in the lead and accelerating. However, CloudStack is also still accelerating and growing fast. Hi all, If you would like to volunteer onsite at the Summit check-in / information booth please contact events(a)openstack.org no later than October 11. Each volunteer will receive one (1) free Full Access registration to attend the Summit in Hong Kong, November 5-8. Summit details at: openstack.org/summit. Volunteers will be responsible for answering frequently asked questions, handing out T-shirts, water bottles, etc. In order to volunteer you must be available to attend an Orientation at Asia World-Expo in Hong Kong on Monday, November 4 at 10:00am. [openstack-community] Join the online meeting for moderators of Ask OpenStack

We are holding an online meeting for all the people that use Ask OpenStack. On Thursday Sept. 5 from 6PM to 7PM Pacific Time on IRC freenode.net #openstack-community The main intention is to share best practices and in the long term improve the objective of Ask OpenStack: to provide the best place on Internet for people to find solutions (answers) to common problems (questions) related to OpenStack. Since anybody can become a moderator with only 100 Karma points this meeting is for every user of Ask OpenStack. We will go through the existing recommendations on the wiki and do some "live" practice together on existing questions.
