Everyone who submitted a speaking proposal for the Summit will soon receive an email notification to let them know whether or not their talk is accepted. The email sent to selected speakers was sent from speakersupport(a)openstack.org <mailto:speakersupport@openstack.org> and contains important next steps and their speaker registration code. Each speaker is responsible for registering themselves to attend the Summit. Please make sure your colleagues read the email and complete this step. [openstack-community] ERROR (DiscoveryFailure): Could not determine a suitable URL for the plugin

Dear all, I want to configure access to openstack identity API via https, I installed a VM with Nginx which receives request via https and sends to the identity API via http. When I enter the Nginx vm ip address (https://10.197.40.50) on my web browser and when I enter the identity API address ( http://10.197.48.201:5000/v2.0) on my web browser, I get the same json results. Also with "export OS_AUTH_URL=http://10.197.48.201:5000/v2.0" in the openstack RC file, I am able to source the file and launch commands like "nova list" from my cli. But when I replace: "export OS_AUTH_URL=http://10.197.48.201:5000/v2.0" in the openstack RC file with "export OS_AUTH_URL=https://10.197.40.50 and I try thesame "nova list" command; I get the following error: *No handlers could be found for logger "keystoneauth.identity.generic.base"* *ERROR (DiscoveryFailure): Could not determine a suitable URL for the plugin* I also tried specifying the parameter export OS_INSECURE="true" in the openstack RC file but it doesn't make a difference and it results in the same error. Please help! I'm really stuck. Thank you

[openstack-community] Register NOW - OpenDev, a New Edge Computing Event: Sept 7-8, San Francisco

Hello Stackers, If you’re involved in Edge Computing then we invite you to register for OpenDev <http://www.opendevconf.com/>, a new event that's specifically focused on Edge using open technologies. The event is organized by the OpenStack Foundation, but it’s not OpenStack specific. Discussions will cover many relevant open technologies. OpenDev will take place at DogPatch Studios in San Francisco, September 7-8 - the week prior to the Denver PTG. We’d love for you to help us make it a success to drive OpenStack and other tech in the right direction for Edge computing use cases. This two-day event is designed to facilitate collaboration at a technical level with productive, working group discussions, in addition to lightning talk presentations on Edge use cases. You can view registration, schedule and sponsorship details at http://www.opendevconf.com/ <http://www.opendevconf.com/>. There will be a range of sessions that are collaborative, led by moderators who dive into specific topics. Topics like managing security, what control planes need to look like, networking technologies in play, gap analysis across OpenStack and other projects, deployment considerations, zero touch provisioning and others. The discussions will be technical and specific—this is not meant to be a vision or thought leadership event, but a practical step forward in improving the state of Edge across open tech. OpenDev will be much smaller than many of our events. The max capacity is fewer than 300 people so it will likely sell out fast. Since the event has limited size, we’re limiting registration to a max of 10 seats per company (15 seats per sponsor company). Tickets are only $100 for the two-day event. Hmm. I was able to run through the whole submission without an error. I wonder if there is a local cache issue. Would you mind clearing your cache for htose pages? Meanwhile, I'll clear Cloudflare again just in case. [openstack-community] compute nova and cinder volume on CNA

Hi, regarding nova, I am not clear about fiber channel over ethernet functionality, if it is necessary to configure something more for fiber channel over ethernet on the compute side (we already configured fcoe utils, lldpd, etc), Doubt: In the compute node have to be installed cinder-volume and nova-compute? For everything to work ok. In our use example we use Dell SC4020 works: For example with: Installed cinder volume: ... Default_volume_type = dellfc Enabled_backends = dellfc [Dellfc] Volume_backend_name = dellfc Volume_driver = cinder.volume.drivers.dell.dell_storagecenter_fc.DellStorageCenterFCDriver ..... In the compute node we use nova-compute and cinder-volume to connect to the storage and it works OK with FC, with FCOE we are not yet using it because we are trying to solve the BCM57810 CNA functionality with Linux to be able to use DCB it does not work). Using nfs, zfs, gluster, we use a dedicated volume cinder node, and it works fine. The doubt arises FCOE. I would appreciate if someone has a similar configuration and tell us the experience. Hi, I have a doubt regarding the upgrade of openstack, it is possible to upgrade from an old version or an updated one without going through the intermediate versions. Example: kilo to newton Or it must be incremental kilo, liberty, mitaka, newton. In my experience I always did them incrementally, but I wanted to know if someone performed the process directly A-> D instead of A-B-C-> D. Thanks.
