Hi everyone,

The official OpenStack 5th anniversary is July 19, and throughout July, several user groups around the world have scheduled local parties to celebrate. In addition to the user group parties, the Foundation will also be hosting a party in Portland  <https://5yearsofopenstack.eventbrite.com/>on Wednesday, July 22 during OSCON.

If you would like to join the community celebration, check out the following planned activities:
More than 30 user groups around the world are coordinating celebrations <http://www.openstack.org/blog/2015/06/openstack-turns-5-its-time-to-celebrate-the-community/>, so register to attend the one in your local community
The OpenStack Foundation is hosting a birthday party during OSCON for OpenStack community members, Foundation staff and the board of directors to mingle and celebrate the community growth and progress. If you're attending OSCON, RSVP for the party <https://5yearsofopenstack.eventbrite.com/>

How you can participate:
Join the conversation - tweet, blog and post pictures using the #OpenStack5Bday hashtag to be included in our aggregate blog post July 20, as well as twitter feeds on the birthday landing page
If you are planning to post a blog about the significance of the milestone for the community, please send the intended URL for inclusion in our aggregate blog post by July 20 at 11am CDT (send to allison at openstack.org <mailto:allison at openstack.org>)
