Last week the Technical Committee approved a change to our charter that creates a formal vice chair position within the TC [1]. Having a vice chair gives us a formal way to designate someone to take over the chair’s duties during an extended absence, which is an important aspect of continuity.

Mohammed Naser has generously agreed to serve in the position for this term (up for renewal around the TC elections before the Berlin summit).
