Even if just one of them uses the full power of their individual members, it could significantly sway the elections.

I'm not denying this.

Certainly there would be collusion amongst the individuals, if not the companies. I'm less paranoid about collusion between the companies than I am about collusion of individuals.

People have a tendency of following a leader. If they've joined the foundation upon mere suggestion, they're just as likely to ask, "who should I vote for?"  It is a natural tendency. If one person they trust or respect indicates their own public support, they'll be likely to vote for that person. Would it be unethical if a Rackspace or HP manager publically expressed their preference for a candidate?

Collusion is generally done in secret, yes. However, certain things like, public support for candidates by evangelists and top-brass could be done in public without much scrutiny.
