Hi everyone,
The Open Infrastructure Foundation Board of Directors met today and Jonathan Bryce asked me to send the summary. The agenda[1] was posted ahead of time.
Julia Kreger opened the meeting, then the Board approved the meeting minutes from the August 6, 2024 meeting.
The staff presented an update covering the recent activities throughout Asia and the output of some community efforts. Thierry Carrez and I covered the events the team participated in, including in Vietnam, China, Japan and the OpenInfra Summit Asia held in Korea. I also recognized the incredible work by the local Korea organizers who took on the bulk of the work to put together the Asia Summit. Mark Collier reviewed 4 key themes around infrastructure that we discussed at the events and highlighted some of the really strong use cases around OpenStack and Kata that were featured. I then talked about recent community initiatives that went live last week, including a landing page and white paper around VMware migration to OpenStack [3] and a white paper around the Open Infrastructure Blueprint [4] that combines Linux, OpenStack, and Kubernetes. Finally, Thierry shared events where staff will be over the coming months.
As the open meeting wrapped, the Board went into a brief executive session.
