[openstack-community] How to start a community?
Hello, I am from Cyprus and want to make a community based in Cyprus and in future expand it in Greece and Lebanon. How can I do it? Please help me Thank you, Sergios Charalambous
Hi Sergios: Your best bet is to create a Meetup group on meetup.com. From there, you can advertise your group and attract attendees. I recently create a new Meetup group in my area using this method. I was able to secure some space to gather people with free wifi as well. This is important for any sort of devstack installfests. I've documented my Meetup here for your reading here: http://www.siliconloons.com/?p=367 Hope this helps! Thanks, Kyle On Dec 6, 2012, at 3:10 PM, S.Charalambous <sc360@kent.ac.uk> wrote:

Sergios, Great initiative. So this is what most of us have done. 1. Add your name and country to this list. http://wiki.openstack.org/OpenStackUserGroups?action=show&redirect=OpenStackUsersGroup 2. Create a meetup page for specific country/region you want to start with. 3. Social media twitter/linkedin/FB pages 4. Spread the word about organizing meetup in the mailinglist. <SNIP> Hello, I am from Cyprus and want to make a community based in Cyprus and in future expand it in Greece and Lebanon. How can I do it?
