Hi everyone! I want to provide a bit of an update on something you can expect at the upcoming OpenInfra Summit[1]. At the end of Day 2 (Wednesday, June 14) at the OpenInfra Summit, we will be hosting a Marketplace Mixer. Leading up to the Marketplace Mixer, Latin American Community Organizer, Alvaro Soto, will be providing a talk on “Cultural Challenges for OpenSource in LATAM” [2] on the OpenInfra Stage. This is a stage right in the center of the OpenInfra Marketplace, where the Mixer will be held. Following that, I will be providing an update on the efforts you all have been making to progress the open source community in your region. We will have two designated tables next to the stage for community organizers such as yourself to hang out. At the end of Alvaro’s talk, I will introduce each of the community organizers we have present. Then during the Marketplace Mixer, you will have the opportunity to mingle with folks who are interested in participating in local events. In addition, we will have representatives from a few other open source software communities onsite. During this time, this will also be an opportunity for you to ask me or any of these representatives any questions on how we can support your efforts to grow the local OpenInfra communities. As cross-community events become a more popular trend, I hope this will be an opportunity for you to advocate your work to the wider community as well as gain alignment with various open source Foundations for support in your future events.
