[openstack-community] Speakers' Bureau
I was trying out the speakers' bureau. a really nice feature and good to see already there is lots of entries.
I found the countries willing to visit list a bit difficult to manage as a false click could lead to resetting all previous selections.
Would it be possible to do something like 'add' with a country selection box and 'delete' from the list of countries selected ?
A general comment box would also be good for just giving some additional details if there are any other further items to mention regarding the speaker's availability.
Tim
Great feedback, Tim.

Yes, we can definitely do this.
A general comment box would also be good for just giving some additional details if there are any other further items to mention regarding the speaker's availability.
Sure, great idea!
Just as a heads up, we're also making some improvements to the "Past Presentations" links, so the user can add a description, along with the link to the video.
Additionally, we've found a couple of bugs with the search where certain terms are returning no results, although they should. Hope to have the fix out today.
Cheers, Jimmy

Where is it? I can't find it on openstack.org nor on groups.openstack.org.

You can update your own preferences under your profile (in the speaker section.)

Thanks Shamail!
Stef, it's not being promoted on the site just yet. It has been sent out to Community list to solicit feedback, and we're still making some adjustments on that front.
Cheers, Jimmy

Tim, et. al.
I believe this latest revision should address all of the latest requests/requirements: https://www.openstack.org/community/speakers/
* Ability to add/remove sorts/filters * Removed possibility of resetting your filters * Added a "General comment box" to speaker profile * Added option to select "Willing to speak via video conference"
Thanks for all the feedback and we'll plan on putting this live tomorrow!

Thanks.
Would it be possible to add the same logic for the add/remove on the filters in the community/speakers to https://www.openstack.org/profile/speaker 'Speaker Details' Countries willing to travel to (Use Ctrl + C to select more than one) list?

This feature was added to Speaker Profile is well. Additionally, we've now placed the Speakers Bureau in the menu under the Community section.
Hopefully we can get some traction before moving forward with any major changes. Once we've all had some time to evaluate it (hopefully on the ramp up to Austin), we'll solicit another round of user feedback to see what we can improve upon.
Looking forward to your thoughts.

Just noticed a minor spelling mistake
For example, https://www.openstack.org/community/speakers/profile/1570
- Expected Attendace (number)
If you are opening the page up, you could also consider changing Email to E-mail but this is probably in need of blueprint followed by a spec review :)

Is the web app that powers this site open source?
If so, where's the source code hosted?
If not, why not?
Thanks, Everett

Everett,
We use https://www.silverstripe.org/ as the CMS. We've also developed a fair amount of custom tools. All of these are open source as well and the repository is available to contribute here: https://github.com/OpenStackweb/openstack-org
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns in setting up the repo.
Thanks! Jimmy
