[openstack-community] OpenStack Horizon - Neutron Topology Integration for Multi-Region Deployment
Hi All, We want to deploy the OpenStack Juno on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS for Multi-region. We have several test to connect inter-region VMs and it is working fine. But when we check from OpenStack Horizon, we have two neutron network topology for each region. Even though the VMs are connected, we still to change the topology based on region to check all the VMs. Is there any plan for integrating neutron network topology view in the OpenStack Dashboard for Multi-region deployment ? Or is there any other options for us to get all those network topology information and show them in the view ? Best Regards, Aris Risdianto.
There is not currently a method or an active plan to provide a cross-region view, although the idea has been discussed. The reason for single region view is reducing the overall number of API calls to render a page and eliminating confusion for the user as to what region will be effected by the action they are taking. That said, I do foresee cross-region views in Horizon. We need to work through the UX issues that surround it. So there is nothing imminently merging.
