Hi everyone, I found that the Chinese version of ask.openstack.org is inactive for a long time. There're only 143 questions asked over 3 years and quite a lot of them aren't answered. I've contacted the Chinese user group leader Ye Lu and the reply is that people rarely use it and there're already better methods for getting help in the Chinese user group. My idea is to remove the Chinese version of ask.o.o and leave only the English version to better improve the user experience. I would like to gather some comments from the community mailing list to see if there's any other great ideas that can put into consideration. Thanks a lot. Another reason here, in China we got many handy ways to communicate and discuss, like csdn website, online forum or wechat group like slack. And We had tried to let people to ask on the platform, but it's not as active as the global site. On Wed, Sep 7, 2016 at 8:56 PM Gene Kuo <gene@openstack.org> wrote:
Hi Ye Lu,
I'm currently working as a community intern in Foundation.
I would like to ask your opinion about the Mandarin version of ask.openstack.org There're only 143 questions asked in Mandarin in over 3 years and quite a lot of them are not answered. I'm thinking if the Mandarin version if necessary for ask.o.o.
From your experience in Chinese OpenStack user group, do most people require a Mandarin version of documents or platform for reading and learning or it's just optional as English reading is not a problem?
Greatly appreciated for any feedback.
