OpenDev Recap
Earlier this month in San Francisco, 200 edge computing users, industry experts and researchers attended OpenDev <http://www.opendevconf.com/>, a two-day collaborative working event designed to help advance the future of edge computing. This Superuser article <http://superuser.openstack.org/articles/developing-edge-computing-use-cases-reference-architectures/> recaps the event and outlines the five major edge use cases that were identified. Videos are now available to view here <http://www.opendevconf.com/videos>. The opening Keynote video includes demo presentations from AT&T, eBay and Verizon, as well as updates from Intel and edge pioneer, Dr. Mahadev Satyanarayanan. All working sessions were documented in etherpads; the links are can be found on the OpenDev Schedule <http://www.opendevconf.com/schedule/>.

Additionally the OpenDev Takeaways etherpad <https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/OpenDevTakeaways> covers the outcomes of each working session. Taking the learnings from OpenDev, the OpenStack team will write a white paper to describe a minimum set of use cases and reference architectures for edge computing. There will also be a Forum session on the topic during the Sydney Summit.

Future edge content will continue to be aggregated at openstack.org/edge <http://openstack.org/edge>.
