I think the question is here is about wifi bandwidth…large conferences and events usually bring in a wifi outfitter and purchase temporary bandwidth packages to ensure smooth network access for attendees.  Those packages are sometimes sold as “X Mbps per attendee * Y number of attendees == $$”.
